Job Description

Establishment of project cost estimates and support for Project & Business Development for proposals and for investment cases. Support Matheson/TNSC marketing and sales efforts.

Coordination of plant P&ID reviews, HAZOPs, and other similar reviews.

Optimize plant product design/instrumentation/automation and operations.

Support heads of Project Development and Execution with inputs requested for HyCO Plant
Product Development and participate in the establishment and management of EPC alliances.

Management of plant upgrades, and oversight and support for plant TARs (turnarounds),as requested by the Head of Project Execution.

Leadership of trouble-shooting challenging issues at existing HYCO plants, which includes process evaluations of plants as required and provision of results/recommendations for resolution.

Provide functional guidance and support on Operations technical issues on an ongoing basis.

Coordination of capital item procurement and associated processes for the Head of HyCO Project Execution.

Remit of the position is Global. Due attention to be given to flex per local cultures.

Principal responsibilities

Lead project assessment efforts to determine scope, execution strategies, budgets and schedules on proposals for projects.

Support for optimization of plant design including controls, instrumentation and automation.

Develop project estimates including capital costs & budgets for plant revamps and new opportunities as applicable.

Prepare plant scope split documentation.

Interface with regulatory agencies as required during proposal development.

Maintain and update P&ID's as applicable per MOC procedure.

Manage critical reviews including: Risk Evaluations, P &ID, HAZOPs to ensure actions are implemented

Support Business & Market Development Unit to develop opportunities. Support Project
Development with inputs for investment cases and contracts.

Support the development of all technical expertise required for troubleshooting/fixing issues and hardware optimization of existing and future plants.

Systematize and provide field operator training and obtain hands-on feedback for design guidance.

Manage the interface(technical and commercial) of any external consultants and EPC Contractors used on Proposals and Projects. Manage external input on specialized technical matters to support troubleshooting of plant issues.

Provision of input sand support for the development of HyCO conceptual solutions both proactively and as requested by the Head of Project Execution.

Procurement of required ancillary materials for ongoing plant support. This includes soliciting
bids, screening vendors, placing POs and coordinating all internal processes including delivery and installation.

Qualify new vendors as required and negotiate scopes and commercial terms.

Traveling to plants domestically and globally is part of this role and development of internal and external relationships.

Required qualifications/experience

Minimum 15 years experience in process related industries and project execution

Prior experience as a team leader

Global/international experience

Cross-cultural, cross-functional working expertise Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering Graduate Degree and/or Professional Engineers license is preferred. Prior operational experience is a plus.

Prior BD and sales experience is a plus.

Experience with Industrial Gases or petrochemical projects and large HyCO is a strong plus.
