The Home Finding Department is responsible for the recruitment, training and certification of all foster homes within Children's Aid. With approximately 500 homes either in the process of certification or certified, Home Finding is the initial contact for prospective foster parents with the agency's foster care division within Children's Aid. The Home Finding Department seeks to ensure a highly quality of care for children in the agency's care as well as highly quality of customer service for our foster parents. Children's Aid has four foster care programs within the agency including Family Foster Care, Therapeutic Foster Care, Medical Foster Care and Medical Foster Care for Developmental Disabilities

Position Summary: The Homefinding Supervisor is responsible for the assessment of applicants and supervision of staff.

Essential Duties:

  • Provide Supervision to the Homefinding staff with a focus on assessment, case collaboration with Case Planning Teams, timeliness and compliance.
  • Work in close collaboration with Intake staff, Case Planning staff as well as the Administration for Children's Services and Office of Children and Family Services to ensure the optimal and holistic care of the children in the agency's care.
  • Reviews and approves foster home certifications and recertifications for assessment, quality of care for the children in the agency's care and compliance with OCFS, ACS as well as agency regulations.
  • Screening and clinical assessment of potential and certified foster parents.
  • Tracking of data and document collection for foster homes pending certification.
  • Conduct chart reviews to ensure compliance.
  • Assist in the tracking of data within Excel.
  • Collaborate regarding recruitment strategies and retainment strategies.
  • Aid and support in foster parent training and compliance.
  • In-person collaboration is an essential function of the job.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in Social Work, Mental Health, or a relevant field required; plus, homefinding experience.
  • Bilingual in Spanish is preferred.

  • Flexibility and ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines including working evenings and weekends when required.
  • Computer literate Microsoft particularly Excel as well Connections.
