Responsibilities:

As a Field Service Engineer, your role will be diverse and impactful:

  • Perform on-site service, including repairs, maintenance, upgrades, and installations.
  • Provide training to customers on product operation and offer support for any queries.
  • Offer troubleshooting support through remote software tools, phone, email, or on-site visits, ensuring seamless problem resolution.
  • Handle the installation and removal of demo/loaner equipment at customer sites.
  • Maintain a well-stocked parts inventory to enable on-site service and coordinate with the factory for critical parts.
  • Represent Hamamatsu at industry tradeshows, showcasing our innovative products and their practical applications.
  • Track all activities in the Service Management system and generate service reports for customers.
  • Prepare quotations for service requests and service contracts.
  • Undertake special projects as required.

Qualifications:

To excel in this role, you should possess:

  • An Associates in Applied Science in Electronics or equivalent technical education.
  • 3 years of experience servicing scientific/technical equipment, with proficiency in digital volt meters and oscilloscopes.
  • Proficiency in computer hardware, including the installation of hardware, software, drivers, and operating systems.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and adept troubleshooting skills.
  • Self-motivation and a commitment to customer satisfaction.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and follow-through.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

While not mandatory, the following qualifications will be highly valued:

  • Prior experience in integrating or using, servicing, and installing imaging or scanning equipment/components.
  • Prior experience working in a lab environment or with medical equipment.
  • Proficiency in mechanical systems, robotics, or sample handling.
  • Supervisory or lead experience.
