Job Description

Senior Electrical Engineer

Molex is looking for a Senior Electrical Engineer! This position is for is a hands-on engineer who will provide technical leadership for developing next-generation products for enterprise cabling systems. Using a practical background in electrical engineering, with an emphasis in RF transmission analysis and design techniques the candidate will use their proven experience in 4 pair ethernet connectivity design to work collaboratively and develop high-performance structured cabling components, designed to meet current, new and emerging industry standards for high-speed data transmission in LANs and data centers.



What You Will Do

  • Lead electrical design activities related to the development of hi-performance connectivity solutions compliant with pertinent TIA and ISO standards requirements.
  • Work in a cross functional team with Mechanical design, Production engineering and Product Management to productize these designs and provide electrical engineering support throughout the NPI process and subsequent product life cycle.
  • Create and maintain electrical engineering standards for both manufactured and outsourced products in the Molex CES product portfolio.
  • Provide technical leadership on the electrical product testing equipment, process and policy used in the company's R&D lab located at the factory in Poland.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned by management.

Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)

  • BS in Electrical Engineering
  • Four or more years related industry experience designing connectivity for four pair balanced cabling systems to TIA component compliance standards.
  • Experience in field simulation and circuit simulation
  • Familiarity with TIA/EIA and IEEE industry standards for high-speed Ethernet applications, such as Category 6 and 6A LAN cabling and connectors
  • Use of circuit simulation tools such as Ansys Designer
  • Computer-aided design of PCBs using PADS, Altium, and/or Cadence Allegro software.
  • Practical knowledge of testing methods for balanced transmission lines, including use of network analyzer and LCR Bridges
  • Project management skills that demonstrate the ability to set goals and priorities in order to complete projects in a systematic and timely manner.
  • Some travel required

  • Previous TIA / EIA committee membership (or similar)
  • Demonstrated 4 pair ethernet connectivity design competence through pertinent patents held by you.
