Job Description:

The PACE Student Place Navigator is a grant-funded position that develops outreach and recruitment programming to serve high school students and adult learners currently in the PACE (Pre-Apprenticeship in Career Education) Grant. Upon students' completion of the PACE program, the goal is to have the Student Placement Navigator guide and place them toward one of the following outcomes: an apprenticeship, employment, or additional education.

Duties & Responsibilities:

Work as a hands-on academic advisor, career and life coach to a caseload of 42 students in two separate cohorts; one of adult learners and one of high school students.

Work with industry partners to maintain and further develop employer engagement opportunities, including apprenticeships, information sessions, and job readiness workshops.

Through active and innovative outreach to students, alumni, employers, and industry partners, promote engagement of these constituents in career preparation and employment opportunities.

Conduct group-based and one-on-one orientation sessions with current students to increase understanding of transfer programs, career pathways, and apprenticeship opportunities.

Develop presentations and workshops to assist students with career development and job placement activities, including writing resumes and preparing students for interviewing.

Survey and track student employment status on a regular basis to identify and source potential college-friendly and health care industry specific employment.

Maintain accurate records of student job placement, tracking measurable outcomes and compiling reports.


Requirements:

Associate's degree from an accredited institution or two (2) years of related experience in education/social services, mentoring, coaching, counseling, or advising students/clients.

Self-motivated with the ability to work in a fast-paced team-focused environment, the ability to multitask, and the ability to pay special attention to detail.

Excellent leadership and teamwork skills with the ability to work independently, determine priorities, and meet multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Experience working with at-risk populations, low-income students, youth, and adult learners.

Experience providing counseling and case management services and demonstrate the ability to work and communicate with diverse populations.

Experience meeting enrollment and completion outcomes required by a contract for services.

Experience with outreach activities, marketing, and communications.

Effective communication (both oral and written) to a variety of diverse audiences.

Microsoft Office applications such as Excel, Outlook and Word.


Additional Information:

This is a part-time position, eligible to work 24.5 hours/week and paid at $30/hour, under the PACE Grant due to expire on 12/31/2023.
