Summary

Hitachi America, Ltd. (HAL: ) is looking to add an experienced Sr. Benefits Analyst to our Corporate Benefits team. The Sr. Benefits Analyst will perform benefit administration, as well as financial and operational analysis of Hitachi's benefit programs. In this role he/she will be responsible for administration, compliance, communications, analysis, and reporting for our Retirement Benefits as well as our Health and Welfare, Defined Contribution, Defined Benefits, Deferred Compensation Plans and voluntary benefit plans in the U.S.

Responsibilities

  • Day-to-Day administration of Hitachi's 401(k) Retirement Plan

  • Oversight of the deferral funding process

  • Provide support to participating Hitachi group companies with respect to benefit processing, benefit payroll processing and general support.

  • Work with Hitachi group companies to maintain relationships and to encourage increased benefit plan participation.

  • Liaise between benefit vendors/carriers and Hitachi group companies with respect to plan eligibility, participation, coverage, compliance matters and other benefit matters.

  • Confer with internal clients, outside consultants, attorneys, third party administrators, benefit record keepers, and carriers to furnish or request necessary data, discuss problems of mutual interest, and otherwise assure proper coordination of areas of assignment.

  • Participate in the reconciliation and issuance of benefit payments to benefit vendors and benefit carriers.

  • Work with internal and external data systems to analyze and report on benefit plans.

  • Prepare materials (memos, spreadsheets, charts, PowerPoint presentations, etc.) for senior management's use at various committee meetings.

  • Ensure quality service and timely resolution of issues, in order to foster positive relations between internal and external customers.

  • Data collection and review for compliance related testng

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience required

  • Retirement Plan administration required

  • Knowledge of ERISA, IRS and DOL regulations required.

  • Strong analytical, problem-solving and technical skills are critical.

  • BPO or Shared Services experience a plus

  • Proficient in the use of Word, PowerPoint. Advanced skills and experience in using Excel.

  • Ability to multitask.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.

  • Organized and detail oriented.

  • Ability to travel as required although travel requirements are expected to be minimal.

For residents of New York City, New York, California, and Washington state only, as required under applicable pay transparency laws, the expected salary range for this position if filled remotely is $86,263 - $107,829. Pay is determined based on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, depth of experience in the practice area. Employees are eligible to participate in Hitachi America's variable pay program, subject to the program's conditions and restrictions.
