The Structure Tone New Jersey office is looking for a Structural Superintendent to join their team. The Civil Superintendent plans, directs, and coordinates all field activities pertaining to the civil/structural construction project. These activities include, but are not limited to, coal combustion residual excavation and removal, dredging, concrete and earthwork, piping, utilities, and liners. This position manages the site operations crew consisting of 10-20 full-time hourly employees, multiple foremen, and the coordination of subcontractors as the need arises.
Job Responsibilities:
- Develop a project site logistics plan and work with project manager to determine method and sequencing of construction. Plans, directs, coordinates and budgets activities.
- Develop and maintain good working relationships with owner, subcontractors, and vendors.
- Communicate and promote safe working environment and company safety standards, with strong knowledge of OSHA regulations.
- Must be able to read plans and have a strong knowledge of various DOT specifications and standards.
- Assist Project Engineers in Shop Drawing and Submittal process.
- Confers with supervisory and engineering personnel and inspectors and suppliers of tools and materials to resolve construction problems and improve construction methods.
- Schedule subcontractors in accordance to required work schedule, pump trucks and material deliveries, Inspect and verify the receipt or shipment of materials.
- Assist the Estimating Department in bidding opportunities and Preconstruction services. Implements and enforces policies, procedures and related work rules as established by field construction Management
- Prepares reports and forecasts, as required, and keeps supervisors informed on progress of overall assigned activities
- Ensures safety standards and requirements are implemented and adhered to by craftsmen and others when in the operational area, tools and equipment are in safe condition and operated safely.
Qualifications:
- 10+ years of field experience in structural and/or commercial projects.
- Experience should include some supervisory responsibility as a General Foreman, Field Engineer or Assistant Superintendent.
- Well developed, communications, interpersonal, organizational and teamwork skills are required
