Psychiatry and Behavioral Health at Greenwich Hospital is seeking to employ a full-time psychiatric nurse practitioner with specialty in the assessment and treatment of a spectrum of psychiatric diagnoses in adolescents. The psychiatric nurse practitioner will work collaboratively with psychiatrists, licensed clinical social workers, psychologists and other providers in the context of routine outpatient and/or intensive outpatient programming.

Responsibilities

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Conducting diagnostic evaluations and treatment planning for newly referred patients
  • Provision of psychiatric treatment
  • Collaboration with physicians and other multidisciplinary staff for direct patient care
  • Collection of outcome data related to clinical care
  • Engagement in community outreach
  • Participation in departmental meetings and activities
  • Participation in training, supervision, and consultation activities
  • Maintaining charts on all clients in accordance with Quality Assurance policies and procedures

Qualifications

EDUCATION

Graduate from an accredited nurse practitioner program

EXPERIENCE

Individuals with experience evaluation and medication management of a spectrum of psychiatric disorders in adolescents; working in an outpatient and/or intensive outpatient program; who embrace a biopsychosocial model of understanding and treating behavior and mental health; and are committed to program development are encouraged to apply.

LICENSURE

Candidates must be licensed in Connecticut and New York, certified as an APRN by the National Commission on Certification of Nurse Practitioners, and must hold Connecticut Controlled Substance Registration and Federal Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) certifications.

Capability of working collaboratively with physicians and other healthcare providers; flexibility with schedule and work-place settings; demonstrated commitment to multidisciplinary teamwork; and demonstrated cultural competency working with diverse cultures and communities.
