Kennedy Jenks is seeking a Scientist, Geologist, or Engineer to support multidisciplinary client teams in New Jersey delivering projects focused on environmental investigation and remediation, natural resource management, ecological risk assessment, and compliance under various state and federal regulations/programs. You will serve as Geologist/Engineer/Scientist and support Project Managers on environmental projects.

Responsibilities will span the full lifecycle of environmental projects and may include:

  • Collecting environmental samples (e.g., groundwater, surface water, soil, sediment, soil gas, indoor air, etc.)
  • Documenting field observations and technical data, use of field instrumentation
  • Supervising subcontractors
  • Evaluating and interpreting data
  • Preparing technical plans and reports
  • Observing well installations
  • Logging of soil borings
  • Operating and maintaining remediation systemsactivities
  • Managing tasks, supporting project managers
  • Applying for and complying with local, state, and federal permits
  • Interacting with clients and regulatory agency representatives
  • May work on multiple, unique assignments simultaneously using strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

Qualifications:

  • Ability to work independently and in team environments.
  • Attention to detail with excellent analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Strong written communication skills required.
  • Understanding of chemistry, environmental regulations, and/or risk assessment preferred
  • Bachelors degree in Engineering, Geology, Environmental Science or related discipline. Masters degree preferred but not required.
  • 2 to 5 years experiencein a similar role.
  • 40-hour HAZWOPER preferred
  • Valid U.S driver's licensewith ability to travel as needed.
