Posting Summary | The Department of Marine & Coastal Sciences is seeking a Shipboard Laboratory Technician to travel aboard the R/V Kilo Moana, owned by the U.S Navy and operated by the University of Hawai'i Marine Center.
R/V Kilo Moana acts as a multi-purpose oceanographic research vessel with extensive equipment for geophysical, physical oceanographic, meteorological, and radioisotope research. The Shipboard Laboratory Technician will participate on a 2-week oceanographic research cruise in the California Current leaving and returning from San Francisco, CA. Duties included assisting science crew with deck board incubation experiments and sample collection. Employee may ask be asked to perform other duties, such as helping with deck operations or running various lab-based equipment. This is an entry-level position, which requires a high school diploma or GED. All training and safety briefings provided prior to embarking. |
