Posting Summary
Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey is seeking a Data and Information Systems Specialist for the Office of Climate Action. This position reports to the Senior Director of Climate Action and Sustainability.

Among the key duties of the position are the following:
  • Manages the Office of Climate Actions digital presence including managing dashboards, communications, media, and data visualization.
  • Provides oversight and accountability for the implementation of Rutgers' Climate Action Plan (CAP).
  • Seeks to mobilize Rutgers' academic, operational, and economic capacities to advance just, equitable climate solutions and help achieve national net-zero greenhouse gas emissions no later than 2050.
  • Aims to eliminate the University's fossil fuel emissions by 2040, advances just and equitable climate adaptation on campus and in our communities, and enhances a University-wide culture of sustainability.
  • Advocates for climate action and sustainability at the highest levels of University leadership.
  • Monitors, reports upon, and, where necessary, facilitates CAP implementation.
  • Communicates about and engages internal and external stakeholders in the University's climate action and sustainability efforts. For more information about the Office, see climateaction.rutgers.edu.

Qualifications

Minimum Education and Experience
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent education and/or experience.
  • Two (2) years of relevant experience.
Certifications/Licenses
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Experience in university computing environments.
  • Experience with networks, LANs, and network software.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's degree.
  • Excellent communication skills and computer literacy.
  • Data visualization experience.
  • Proficiency with Tableau and website development experience.
