The Department of Psychology and the Department of Psychiatry & Behavioral Health at Stony Brook University (SBU) invite applications for a full-time Clinical Assistant Professor, non-tenure track.
The Leonard Krasner Psychological Center (KPC) is the in-house training clinic for the Psychology Department's highly ranked doctoral program in Clinical Psychology and serves the University and surrounding community. It is also part of the three SBU Consortium Psychology Training Programs, which include an APA accredited pre-doctoral internship, a pre-doctoral externship, and a postdoctoral fellowship. The KPC provides evidence-based CBT-informed training and services for a wide range of psychological disorders, including specialized programs in anxiety disorders, chronic depression, and wellness/resiliency. We are also developing new programs in trauma for youth and adults, LGBTQ health, and aging, as well as research opportunities for faculty and students at all levels.
The Mind Body Clinical Research Center (MB-CRC) is an outpatient facility affiliated with the University's Department of Psychiatry & Behavioral Health and the Renaissance School of Medicine that provides psychotherapy services to patients and practicum in delivering psychological services for trainees who participate in the SBU Consortium Psychology Training programs. The MB-CRC provides evidenced-based psychotherapy services including full-model dialectical behavior therapy, cognitive behavioral treatments and mind-body interventions.
The primary responsibilities of the Clinical Assistant Professor are as follows:
We are particularly interested in a clinical psychologist who comes from a clinical scientist or scientist-practitioner program, and whose training and clinical experience are consistent with an evidence-based practice approach and the implementation of Cognitive Behavioral models, including third wave approaches to treatment. Experience in providing clinical supervision and interest/scholarly work focused on trauma and LGBTQ affirmative care within the integration of science-practice are also desirable.

This is a non-tenure track position. FLSA Exempt position, not eligible for the overtime provisions of the FLSA. Anticipated start date is July 1, 2024.
