The Americas IB Compliance Head is a business line compliance role, supporting the Investment Bank in the Americas to comply with all relevant US and global regulatory requirements by:

  • Providing review and challenge to the senior management of Deutsche Bank Americas IB Management, and
  • Developing and maintaining a robust compliance framework in conjunction with the Compliance Management team regionally and globally.

Responsibilities include:

  • The Americas IB Compliance Head is a business line compliance role, supporting the Investment Bank in the Americas to comply with all relevant US and global regulatory requirements by:

  • Providing review and challenge to the senior management of Deutsche Bank Americas IB Management, and
  • Developing and maintaining a robust compliance framework in conjunction with the Compliance Management team regionally and globally.
  • Responsibilities include:

  • Support Americas IB businesses and their Divisional Control Functions by providing review and challenge on regulatory and policy matters
  • Supervise the IB Compliance team to support the coverage business areas with robust compliance control framework, including annual compliance risk assessment process, keeping abreast of regulation updates to provide guidance to the businesses to update their relevant policies and procedures, reviewing and challenging new product and/new transaction, issuing Compliance policy reminders and providing appropriate Compliance training
  • Partner with other control functions such as Surveillance, AFC, Legal, Risk, HR to address and resolve escalated issues with the appropriate businesses
  • Work closely with the Regulatory Management Group, Business, and other Infrastructure colleagues to respond to regulatory inquiries, examinations, etc.
  • Lead the implementation of global compliance strategy relevant to the region, as well as coordinate specific global programs/projects on behalf of the Global IB Compliance Head
  • Represent Compliance in various senior leadership and/or Board meetings
  • Oversee Dodd-Frank Compliance team, including CFTC swap dealer and SEC securities-based swap dealer and Volcker oversight
  • Lead the Americas Compliance IB team supporting the Americas IB Division with excellent leadership skills to manage and mentor employees, including career development and recruitment of new team members as needed
  • Lead by example to help build and maintain a strong compliance culture and environment
  • Interact with various senior IB senior leaders in the Americas, including Latin America
  • Liaise with senior Compliance colleagues regionally and globally as well other Infrastructure departments (eg., Legal, Anti-Financial Crime, Operations, etc.)
  • Comprehensive knowledge of US Regulations (e.g., FINRA, SEC, CFTC, Federal Reserve, etc.)
  • 15 years+ of Compliance experience with expertise in Investment Banking businesses/products
  • Leadership role model - able to operate effectively and achieve objectives in a matrix organizational structure as well as experience in managing diverse, high performing teams in New York, Jacksonville, Sao Paulo and Mexico City
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal are essential, along with strong influencing, problem solving, organizational, and stakeholder management skills
  • Self-motivated, organized, and results orientated with flexibility to adapt to changing priorities to meet organizational and business needs is essential
  • Excellent networking / relationship building across coverage business areas, Compliance regionally and globally, other departments as well as with Regulators
  • Masters or Law Degree preferred

Expectations

It is the Bank's expectation that employees hired into this role will work in the New York office in accordance with the Bank's hybrid working model.

The salary range for this position in New York is $300,000 to $500,000.Actual salaries may be based on a number of factors including, but not limited to, a candidate's skill set, experience, education, work location and other qualifications. Posted salary ranges do not include incentive compensation or any other type of renumeration.
