Posting Summary
Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey is seeking a The University Enrollment Services Technician (EST) for the department of Graduate Admissions.

Among the key duties of the position are the following:
  • Performs clerical operations for enrollment management activities of Admissions, Financial Aid and Registrar.
  • Assists in all aspects of enrollment management from the prospective applicant stage to enrolled students.
  • Researches and resolves diversified problems and provides responses to questions about applicant's applications, student registrations, transcript requests, academic records, financial aid recipients and changes.
  • Processes and/or verifies some applicant's admissions applications, student registrations, transcript requests, academic records, and changes.
  • Accesses information from a variety of sources residing on the university's administrative mainframe computer.
  • Prepares, tracks, and finalizes financial aid documents.
  • Composes draft correspondence.
  • Participates in general mailings, satellite operations, and general clerical work.
  • Provides guidance and assistance to others.
  • Actss as group leader.

Qualifications

Minimum Education and Experience
  • High school/vocational school education or equivalent.
  • Four (4) years or any equivalent combination of: clerical or secretarial experience, advanced secretarial or business training, or college level study.
  • Two (2) years financial aid and/or registration experience. (Two years of student services, student accounting or similar experience may be substituted).
Certifications/Licenses
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Ability to group lead.
  • Ability to record and maintain data in computerized and non-computerized formats.
  • Working knowledge and the ability to use basic spreadsheet, word-processing, database software, and/or email.
  • Ability to communicate effectively.
  • Effective client service skills.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience that demonstrates knowledge and understanding of office administration, work organization, coordination, facilitation, bookkeeping, and/or report writing principles and practices.
  • Two or more years of experience in admissions processing or student financial aid or registrar with knowledge of Financial Aid Management System (FAMS), Student Records Database(SRDB) or New Jersey Applicant Services(NJAS), NSLDS, Fedral and State systems and ImageNow.
  • Excellent communication skills, and computer literacy.
