Job Overview:

Under the direct supervision of the Research Lead, the Interim Research Coordinator will be involved in overseeing clinical research studies at the Developmental and Behavioral Pediatrics section at CSH. Activities will include: supervising the team s research assistant and interns, managing patient recruitment and conducting testing sessions, data collection, validation, and analysis, IRB submission and renewals, maintaining compliance with IRB, HIPAA, and FERPA guidelines, assisting in grant, manuscript and conference submissions, and handling the administrative and financial aspects of each study. Research populations include, but are not limited to, autism spectrum disorder, attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder, learning and intellectual disability, language impairments, and traumatic brain injury. The Interim Research Coordinator position is primarily located in Union, NJ. The expected job commitment is 30 hours/week until October 2024.

Qualifications:

Required:

  • Master s degree in behavioral or biological sciences, psychology, neuroscience, or a related discipline
  • At least two years of related clinical research experience
  • Must complete Human Subjects Research training upon hire and maintain certificate throughout employment
  • Excellent administrative and communication skills (verbal and written)
  • Proficient computer skills (Microsoft Office, Virtual Conference Platforms)
  • Proficiency in the use of electronic data capture tools (e.g., REDCap) and/or data analytic software for analysis (e.g., Stata, SPSS, or SAS)
  • Experience in data management with a variety of data sources (survey, administrative, and medical data)
  • Excellent administrative and communication skills (verbal and written)
  • Ability to efficiently provide frequent updates and consistent follow up with supervisor
  • Strong organizational and communication skills with ability to effectively work with participants and parents, supervisors and study team, clinicians and hospital staff
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to details, especially with study protocol administration and data collection, and strong ability to identify problems or inconsistencies and alert supervisor in a timely manner
  • Flexibility and ability to adapt quickly to new situation and work under pressure
  • Ability to work well with variety of organizations and personnel
  • Project and personnel supervisory experience

Preferred:

  • Clinical research experience in pediatric populations

Certifications and Licenses Required:

  • Must complete Human Subjects Research training upon hire and maintain certificate throughout employment

Scheduling Requirements:

  • Temporary position through 10/1/2024
  • 30 hours/week

Essential Functions:

  • Supervising Research Assistant and Research Interns
  • Assisting with and oversee ongoing research studies based on the research protocols, including, but not limited to:
    • Conducting recruitment and screening calls
    • Assisting with scheduling at various CSH locations
    • Verification of chart review for eligibility
    • Verification of all data input into REDCap
    • Pulling data and reformatting in SPSS for analysis
    • Maintaining study databases at the highest level of completeness and accuracy, and safeguarding the safety and the right to privacy for study participants.
  • Handling all financial issues including, but not limited to:
    • Completing all tasks related to participant compensation and intern stipend (preparing invoices and check requests, purchasing and sending compensation)
    • Keeping detailed documentation of transactions
    • Coordinating reimbursement quarterly between grant funding and CSH Finance department
    • Facilitating software package renewals with relevant companies as needed
  • Assisting with and oversee grant, IRB, and manuscript preparation, including, but not limited to:
    • Conducting literature review for upcoming studies
    • Gather materials necessary for IRB applications for new studies
    • Handle renewal of IRB approval, as needed
  • Corresponding with the marketing department, if needed
  • Traveling between CSH sites and attendance at some community events
  • Work with CSH Research Department and clinical and nonclinical CSH staff, patients/families, prospective subjects from the community, and community agencies
