RBC is seeking a strong candidate to join its MCCR team, for contributing towards Single Counterparty Credit Limits (SCCL), Basel 3 Endgame and other regulatory compliance projects. In particular, the incumbent's core responsibilities are to contribute to the design, governance, and successful execution of regulatory projects.

What is the Opportunity?

The Market & Counterparty Credit Risk (MCCR) group is responsible for defining and implementing an effective risk framework and governance structure for RBC & its subsidiaries and the combined U.S. operations of RBC. RBC is seeking a strong candidate to join its MCCR team, for contributing towards Single Counterparty Credit Limits (SCCL), Basel 3 Endgame and other regulatory compliance projects. In particular, the incumbent's core responsibilities are to contribute to the design, governance, and successful execution of regulatory projects.

What will you do?

  • Review supervisory guidance and industry news to identify FRB & other regulatory requirements, best practices, and trends.
  • Review SCCL, Basel 3 Endgame (SA-CCR and BA-CVA) regulations and be involved in the full lifecycle of regulatory implementation.
  • Work on regulatory interpretation, define detailed business requirements, creating supporting documents, methodology documents, process flow diagrams, system lineage diagrams and other required documentation.
  • Perform reconciliation, deep-dive data gap analysis, issue identification, remediation plan creation and track improvements.
  • Assist with the planning and execution of SCCL, Basel 3 Endgame (SA-CCR and BA-CVA), coordinating with IT and other teams to drive develop the SCCL, Basel 3 Endgame (SA-CCR and BA-CVA) calculations and reporting.
  • Support the establishment of a regulatory governance framework by collaborating across various teams to define the target operating models, roles & responsibilities, and appropriate process controls.
  • Assist in the preparation of presentations/materials and that will be used to present to Committee meetings, FRB meetings.
  • Assist in various documentation (requirements, controls, methodology, process, framework etc.)
  • Provide support for risk & control self-assessment, internal audit & regulatory exams, as needed.

What do you need to succeed?

  • Bachelor's Degree - BS/ Finance or quantitative.
  • 5+ years' experience in market or counterparty credit risk or credit risk management.
  • Experience with one of the following regulations - SCCL, SA-CCR, BA-CVA, FRTB, CECL, LEF.
  • Experience with the full lifecycle of a regulatory implementation project, from regulatory analysis / interpretation to working with IT to implement requirements.
  • Ability to work with SQL and Python or R to perform detailed data analysis.
  • Strong abilities in Microsoft Office suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)
  • Detail-oriented and able to facilitate development of firm-wide risk management framework.
  • Communication and analytical capabilities commensurate with independent production of management-ready documentation work products.
  • Autonomous & highly motivated with ability to multi-task productively and work independently and collaboratively.
  • Ability to accept accountability, assume leadership and demonstrate initiative.
  • Ability to work in high pressure environments under tight deadlines.
  • Knowledge of trading products and associated risk measures

Note : This is a Hybrid role and the incumbent is expected to work from office a minimum of 3 days a week.

The good-faith expected salary range for the above position is $110,000 - $190,000depending on factors including but not limited to the candidate's experience, skills, registration status; market conditions; and business needs.This salary range does not include other elements of total compensation, including a discretionary bonus and benefits such as a 401(k) program with company-matching contributions; health, dental, vision, life and disability insurance; and paid time-off plan.
