We are seeking an experienced Planning & Strategy Director to join the Marketing Planning and Strategy team at Salesforce. Reporting to the Sr. Director of Marketing Planning and Strategy within Marketing Operations, you will play a key role in shaping the Marketing organization's strategic direction by optimizing planning, operations, and spend execution. You will help drive core programs and effectively implement critical initiatives that boost pipeline and amplify our messaging. As the leader of a high impact team, you set the bar for being collaborative, trusted business partners that can operate in a fast-paced environment while creating deliverables with an unwavering commitment to precision and high quality. This role will act as a bridge across the Marketing organization, connecting strategy through effective planning and establishing key processes and standards!

Responsibilities
  • Identify ways to scale the organization by pinpointing methods to streamline, standardize, and optimize current processes
  • Ensure that marketing leaders are supported on all planning and forecasting motions by delivering a consistent set of budget management tools, enablement and reporting
  • Create and develop best-in-class templates and materials that can be utilized consistently across all functions to minimize manual re-work and data entry
  • Enablement and training: ensure that marketers have the proper spend execution and spend governance materials to fully optimize and apply their budgets
  • Systems enhancements: engage with cross-functional teams to ensure that the systems utilized for spend execution is optimal for marketers
  • Act as a trusted advisor to marketing leaders across the organization, ensuring clear lines of communication are consistently maintained
  • Provide leadership to the marketing functional planning and strategy team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and new ideas
Experience
  • Prior experience in team leadership and motivating and inspiring a team
  • Strong strategic thinking, analytical skills and a data-driven mindset
  • Outstanding collaboration and communication abilities, alongside a keen eye for detail.
  • Advanced Excel skills required. Must be quick to learn and adapt to new systems
  • Financial background is a plus. Knowledge of GAAP based accounting recognition policies preferred
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills to work and collaborate with worldwide teams
  • 9+ years of experience in Finance, Analytics, and/or Business Operations

For New York-based roles, the base salary hiring range for this position is $174,800 to $276,600.For Washington-based roles, the base salary hiring range for this position is $159,000 to $253,600.For California-based roles, the base salary hiring range for this position is $174,800 to $276,600.

Compensation offered will be determined by factors such as location, level, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Certain roles may be eligible for incentive compensation, equity, benefits.
